Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco was born in Canada and is American. She has produced more than 20 studio albums. The music of DiFranco has been described as folk-rock and alternative rock although it has additional influences from punk funk hip hop and jazz. Ani DiFranco, widely regarded as a feminist icon and Grammy-winning performer, is regarded as the creator of DIY music. She was among the very first musicians to establish the label she created in the year 90. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23rd of 1970, her parents Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco, who had met while attending an institution called the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father is of Italian heritage, while her mother is from Montreal. Ani Difrasco wrote and recorded the song "32 Flavors". This song appeared on her 5th studio album Not a Pretty Girl which came out in 1995. This song appears on the film soundtrack for the Canadian romantic drama Better Than Chocolate from 1999. DiFranco apologized for hosting a workshop in Louisiana on an old slave plantation. The course was later cancelled however, she did not express any regret. DiFranco issued an additional apology just a few weeks later. Although she is known as the Little Folksinger, her songs have embraced a variety of kinds of genres and collaborates across the spectrum from Pete Seeger to Chuck D to Prince. New Orleans is her home. Ani diFranco and Kristen Ford are together. When she was 14, she had begun singing her own tunes. She sang them in bars and in coffee shops all through her teens. DiFranco, who graduated at age 16 at the age of 16, from Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts High School, began to study at Buffalo State College.
