Simone Biles

Simone Biles is an American gymnast. Born March 14, 1997, in Columbus Ohio U.S.A. At the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro she became the first female U.S. gymnast to win four gold medals at a single Games as well as the first gymnast in history to win three consecutive all-around world championships (2013-15). Biles together with her siblings Adria and Ronald Biles were taken in as infants by their grandparents from Houston. Simone began to be interested in gymnastics when she was only six years old. Coach Aimee Borman brought her to Bannon's Gymnastix and they took them to an outing. Biles was awarded a gold medal in floor exercises and also a bronze in vault at the Women's Junior Olympic National Championships in 2010 before breaking into the elite level of gymnastics in the year 2011. The following year Biles was the king of the field. Biles stood out for her consistent performance, exuberant character, as well as the difficulty she encountered at each of the four events: vaulting, uneven bars and the balance beam.
